The support group was formed in 1986. The main goals of the Group is to provide support to burn victims as well as their family and friends during their stay in the hospital and after discharge. The aim is to reintergrate the survivor into society as soon as possible. The group has district representatives in most areas across Nova Scotia. We are a newly founded Non-Profit Association, that has taken on the the fight and the rights for Burn Survivor's to gain all necessary information, education, Pshychologial, therapuetically, Surgically, etc, My name is Donna Spence and I'm the Founder, and President of this Association, and also a Burn Survivor. I sustained 68% rd & 4th degree burns on my forehead to my upper thighs, with 12% being 2nd dgree. I was burnt only 16 month's from now (Tuesday, September 28, 1999) and I know that NO one knows what a traumatization this causes upon the emotions, physically, mentally, socially, etc, except for the Burn Survivor.
