Resume:
The biography begins with the exuberant four-year old arriving for an idyllic late-summer weekend holiday on her grandparent's farm. The happy atmosphere of the story is suddenly shattered when the young girl falls innocent victim to the impetuous act of a careless parent.
Her narrative then deals with her lengthy physical recuperation from the burns covering half her body. Unfortunately no psychiatric care was rendered and the young patient was sent home to her extremely dysfunctional family. No one recognized that there were still severe internal injuries.
This imaginative child developed coping mechanisms which worked well for the moment but they subsequently tainted her perception of herself and the world around her. Years of fantasy, depression, questing for love and the fear of fear propelled her down a trail of misery.
Finally she found and recognized the suppressed demons which had warped he life so badly. Like the ancient prophet, Job, she did not blame God for three decades of wreckage. Rather she accepted them as His challenges for her to overcome.
We experience, together, the long and awaited transformation. "I began to experience the blessings of a new relationship with myself...I felt 'present' as a woman, wonderfully strong and beautiful." Through the process of inner healing and divine intervention, the author emerges from her "bog of psychological" stresses. Like a phoenix rising from its own ashes, she is reborn to a life renewed, refined through experience, tempered with wisdom and clothed in faith.
